Drake’s latest internet moment is, well, a little difficult to explain without watching the clip. The Iceman singer seems to have melted and followed a ‘goth baddie’s’ command during a livestream.

The rapper found himself barking like a dog during a livestream after goth streamer Pinkchyu challenged him to prove he could follow instructions. The bizarre exchange, which ended with her telling him “Good boy”, quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from Drake’s latest appearance on Kick.

The moment happened during a roughly three-hour livestream on Saturday celebrating the ninth anniversary of Stake, the crypto gambling platform that has a long-running partnership with Drake. But what was supposed to be an anniversary stream soon turned into something closer to a chaotic variety show, complete with giveaways, celebrity appearances, a dating game and plenty of internet drama.

So, why was Drake barking?

Drake and NELK co-founder Kyle Forgeard hosted a “20-v-1” dating segment, bringing 20 women into the livestream as potential dates. Pinkchyu, who describes herself online as a goth streamer, was among them.

During their interaction, she challenged Drake to test how obedient he could be. He proceeded to bark, seemingly without much hesitation. The clip quickly spread across social media, with viewers turning the unexpected exchange into memes.

Pinkchyu ultimately emerged as Drake’s pick from the dating segment, with the rapper referring to her as his “wife” in the playful format.

The interaction also revived an old Drake soundbite. During a 2025 appearance on Bobbi Althoff’s podcast, the rapper had spoken about being attracted to a “goth baddie”, making the Pinkchyu moment feel particularly tailor-made for the internet.

The stream had much more going on

The barking incident was only one part of a livestream that appeared determined to keep viewers entertained. The Stake anniversary broadcast featured more than $1 million in cash and prizes, including a $50,000 grand prize, while Drake handed out other lavish gifts during the dating segment.

The rapper also used the livestream to address his music career and send a warning to fellow rappers who might be considering taking shots at him.

“These guys are dropping albums, like hello and goodbye, and careful with that reply ’cause the pen isn’t dry,” Drake said during the stream.

He also floated the idea of hosting next year’s Stake anniversary stream on a yacht before immediately admitting that he does not like boats. The comment sparked speculation online about whether it was aimed at anyone in particular, though Drake denied that it was an intentional shot.

The livestream is another example of how Drake has increasingly embraced the creator economy rather than restricting himself to the traditional music cycle. His appearances on Kick have allowed him to interact with fans in a much less polished setting, where a three-second exchange can become the headline of the day.
