Looks like the musical wave of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is finally set to hit the shores of Kerala! The renowned music composer trio areย set to make their debut in Malayalam cinema.
Taking to Instagram, the trio made the announcement. They wrote, โWeโre excited to announce that for the first time ever, weโre diving into the world of Malayalam cinema. This oneโs got it all โ Kochiโs soul, WWE wrestling madness, chenda beats, and a soundtrack thatโs literally gonna pack a punch!โ
They also wrote, โVery excited to be working with producers Ramesh, Ritesh, and Shihan at Reel World Entertainment. This project is something weโve never done before, and we canโt wait to share it with you. Title and cast announcement coming very soon โ and trust me, you donโt wanna miss this!โ
Interestingly, last year, Reel World Entertainment announced a wrestling-themed Malayalam film. While it was supposed to star Arjun Ashokan in the lead, itโs unclear if the actor is still on board the project.
The upcoming film is produced by Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, Ritesh S Ramakrishnan and Shihan Shoukath under the banner of Reel World Entertainment.
Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy are the composers of films like Dil Chahta Haiย (2001),ย Kal Ho Naa Hoย (2003),ย Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehnaย (2006),ย Rock On!!ย (2008),ย My Name Is Khanย (2010), andย Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaraย (2011), have also composed for Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi films. While the trio might be new to Malayalam cinema, Shankar Mahadevan has lent his voice to multiple hit songs with the โKalyana Kacheriโ from Madampi winning him the 2008 Kerala State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
