Kangana Ranaut visited Mumbaiโs Siddhivinayak and Mumba Devi temples during Sawan, offering prayers in a traditional silk saree after performing Rudra Abhishek on Nag Panchami.
Kangana Ranaut turned to prayer during her latest visit to Mumbai, seeking blessings at the cityโs Shree Siddhivinayak Temple and Mumba Devi Temple on Tuesday. The actor and BJP Member of Parliament shared glimpses of her temple visits on social media as she continued her religious observances during Sawan.
The actor arrived in a traditional silk saree, with her head covered with the pallu. She wore her hair in a bun decorated with gajra and kept the rest of her look understated, adding a red bindi and traditional earrings. Security personnel accompanied her during the visit.
From Nag Panchami prayers to temple darshan
Kanganaโs outing comes shortly after she performed a Rudra Abhishek on Nag Panchami. Her visits to the two Mumbai temples appear to be part of the same period of spiritual observance during Sawan.
At Siddhivinayak, she offered prayers and flowers before emerging from the temple to face the paparazzi. In videos and pictures from the outing, Kangana appeared in a cheerful mood and was heard chanting โGanpati Bappa Moryaโ.
Sharing pictures from her visit, the actor wrote about seeking darshan of Raja Shree Siddhivinayak ji and Mumbaiโs Mata Shri Mumba Devi.
Siddhivinayak, one of Mumbaiโs best-known temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, regularly draws devotees as well as prominent names from Bollywood and politics. Mumba Devi Temple, meanwhile, is dedicated to the cityโs presiding deity and remains one of Mumbaiโs most significant religious landmarks.
Kangana Ranautโs film and political life
The temple visit comes as Kangana continues to juggle her political career with her work in films. She was last seen in Emergency, in which she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and also took on the directorโs chair.
She is also set to return as Rani Mehra in Queen 2, following the hugely popular 2014 film Queen. The original, directed by Vikas Bahl, centred on Rani, a sheltered young woman whose wedding is called off just days before the ceremony. Her decision to go ahead with her honeymoon alone eventually becomes a journey of self-discovery and independence.
Kangana has also been associated with Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a project connected to the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Away from the screen, the actor-turned-politician has continued to remain in the news for her statements and activities as a Member of Parliament. Her latest temple visit offered a quieter glimpse of her life away from the political spotlight.
