As many as 30 teams will compete across three divisions in the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026, which is set to begin in Pune on Wednesday and continue until August 23.

The prestigious domestic tournament will bring together some of the country’s most promising young women’s hockey players, with teams competing not only for the national championship but also for promotion and survival across the different divisions.

The championship has been structured into Division A, Division B and Division C, providing teams with a competitive pathway within the national hockey system. The three-tier format is designed to give players and teams regular exposure to high-level competition while creating opportunities for sides to progress through the divisions based on their performances.
