Ferran Torres on brink of joining PSG from Barcelona
Barcelona and UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on an agreement for Spanish forward Ferran Torres, with negotiations between the two clubs accelerating rapidly in recent hours.
An official announcement regarding Torres’ move to Paris is expected soon, with both clubs believed to have narrowed the gap significantly over the financial terms of the transfer. While the deal is yet to be formally completed, people involved in the negotiations reportedly consider an agreement to be close.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by Goal.com, Barcelona initially rejected PSG’s proposal, which was understood to be worth around 50 million euros including fixed fees and performance-related variables. However, the two clubs continued discussions and have since made considerable progress.
Barcelona are understood to be seeking a guaranteed payment of around 50 million euros, along with an additional amount linked to specific performance and other agreed criteria. The Catalan club’s position has reportedly moved closer to PSG’s proposal after several days of negotiations between the two sides.
Although the broad framework of the transfer is understood to have been agreed, a few details still need to be finalised before the deal can become official. No legally binding agreement has reportedly been signed yet, meaning the transfer remains subject to the completion of the final formalities.
Torres has already agreed personal terms with PSG, who are managed by former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique. The Spanish forward is believed to have informed Barcelona last week that he wanted to accept the French club’s offer, paving the way for the final stage of negotiations.
PSG’s interest in Torres comes as the French champions look to strengthen their attacking options with a player who has extensive experience at the highest level of European and international football. His versatility, pace and ability to operate in several attacking positions have made him an attractive option for the Parisian side.

The negotiations have reportedly been led by sporting directors Luis Campos of PSG and Deco of Barcelona, who have spent several days working to settle the transfer fee and the structure of the agreement. Their discussions have helped both sides move closer to a compromise.
Torres joined Barcelona in 2022 after making his name in English football with Manchester City. During his time at the Catalan club, he has contributed to a successful period that has included three La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey triumph.
At international level, Torres has also established himself as an important member of Spain’s setup. He was part of the Spanish squad that won the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored the winning goal in the final against Lionel Messi-led Argentina, further enhancing his profile on the global stage.
With personal terms already agreed and negotiations between Barcelona and PSG understood to be nearing completion, Torres’ transfer now appears increasingly likely.
The remaining details are not expected to derail the move, but both clubs must complete the necessary formalities before the transfer can be officially confirmed. If the final discussions proceed as anticipated, Torres could soon begin the next chapter of his career in Paris under Luis Enrique.
