On Monday, the FWICE said its members would not work with Singh following his last minute exit from Farhan Akhtarโ€™s โ€œDon 3โ€.

Ranveer Singhโ€™s departure from Farhan Akhtarโ€™sย Don 3 has created major controversy in the industry. The matter is currently being intervened by FWICE but the workers have refused to work with the actor post his exit from the franchise. But why did he not attend the meeting with FWICE workers? What was the reason behind his absence?

Ashoke Pandit breaks silence

In an interview with ETimes,
the filmmaker was quoted saying, โ€œSo we very strongly tried our best. We sent him invitations thrice. There was no response, and then finally he sent mail when he came to know that we are having a press conference, saying that this doesnโ€™t come under a jurisdiction.โ€

โ€œSo with that said, fine, if you feel so strongly. Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. (Alright then. No problem) Doesnโ€™t matter. So that is a basic thing, we will wait. Weโ€™ll sit with the producer body. Will sit with different associations, and weโ€™ll see how things happen,โ€ he added.

Official statement from FWICE

โ€œTill the time he doesnโ€™t come and attend a meeting with us, none of our members will work with him. He is not shooting for anything at the moment. If he begins, we will ensure none of us work with him,” said a resolute B N Tiwari, president of FWICE.

โ€œDon 3โ€, which was to reboot the successful franchise for a third time with a new face, was yet to begin shooting when he quit. The producers claim that more than Rs 45 crore had already been spent in the pre-production phase.

Despite three notices from FWICE, Singh, fresh from his success in the โ€œย 
Dhurandharโ€ movies, did not respond, said Tiwari.
