Piyush Goyal meets Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Lโ€™Oreal to push India manufacturing and exports

Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal held meetings with luxury company LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE and beauty giant Lโ€™Oreal Groupe, focusing on growing manufacturing, exports and investment in India. In his meeting with Vincent Astoux, International Relations Director of LVMH, Goyal discussed expanding manufacturing in India to increase exports, investing in local talent, promoting Indian culture through future partnerships and building balanced trade ties. Sharing details on X, Goyal said, โ€œHeld a productive meeting with Mr. Vincent Astoux, International Relations Director of @LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE. Discussion focused on strengthening manufacturing in India to expand exports, investing in local talent, promoting Indian culture through future collaborations, and advancing balanced & mutually beneficial trade partnerships.โ€ The talks showed a wider effort to bring Indian skills and cultural heritage into the global luxury supply chain. LVMH was founded in 1987 after the merger of Moet Hennessy and Louis Vuitton and is a global leader in luxury goods. Goyal also held discussions with Lโ€™Oreal Groupe on increasing sourcing, manufacturing and exports from India, while looking at new opportunities for the countryโ€™s beauty and personal care sector. In another post on X, the minister said he โ€œheld a meeting with a delegation led by Vismay Sharma, President – South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa Zone, at L’Oreal Groupe.โ€ He said the discussions focused on โ€œstrengthening sourcing, manufacturing, and exports from India,โ€ as the government continues to push India as a global manufacturing and export hub across sectors, including beauty and personal care. Goyal also said the talks covered Lโ€™Orealโ€™s recent expansion in India through its technology operations. โ€œGiven that L’Oreal launched the world’s largest Beauty Tech Global Capacity Centre in Hyderabad recently, explored avenues to unlock greater opportunities for India’s beauty & personal care sector,โ€ the minister said in the post.
