LSG defeats RCB in rain-curtailed IPL match
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method on Thursday, ending their six-match losing streak. Sent in to bat first, LSG batters took the attack to the RCB bowlers and scored quickly in the powerplay.

Mitchell Marsh smashed nine fours and nine sixes, scoring a brilliant 111 off just 56 deliveries. Arshin Kulkarni contributed 70 off 41 balls, while West Indies star batter Nicholas Pooran played a quick-fire 38 to steer the team to a strong total of 209 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs.

Out-of-form skipper Rishabh Pant also made an unbeaten 32 off 10 balls.

Batting second, the RCB innings never really took off as multiple early wickets dealt a severe blow to their aspirations.

Frequent rain interruptions reduced the match to 19 overs, setting a revised target of 213 for RCB. While the RCB batters tried hard, they could only manage 203 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 19 overs.
