KKR beats LSG in super over
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have beaten Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a Super Over to claim their second victory of the 2026 IPL season.
Struggling at 71/6, it was Rinku Singh’s masterclass and patient innings that guided the KKR side to victory.
Batting first, LSG put on 155 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs on a somewhat difficult track.
In response, KKR were 129 for 7 at the end of the 19th over.
Rinku Singh then smashed Digvesh Rathi for four successive sixes in a 26-run over to take them to 155 for 7.
Rinku finished on 83 not out off 51 balls, his highest score in T20s.
The Super Over was an anti-climax. Sunil Narine bowled Nicholas Pooran with the first ball and had Aiden Markram caught off the third, with Rishabh Pant managing a single in between.
Rinku then took strike in the Super Over for KKR and drove Prince Yadav’s first ball through cover point to secure victory.
KKR’s batting woes continued in yesterday’s game as well, as Mohsin Khan’s maiden five-wicket haul had them reeling during the chase.
KKR are placed 8th in the table with two victories, while LSG are placed in the 10th spot with two victories.
