On the back of releasing their latest album Ecstasy, fusion group Lakkshya have been on an India tour promoting their blend of traditional Carnatic sounds with contemporary influences. After selling out tickets for their Mumbai show earlier this month, the groupโs penultimate stop on the tour organised by Quriosity is in Bengaluru, at Medai – The Stage. The lineup comprises singer-violinist Ila Diliip, composer-violinist KJ Diliip, percussionist Sunaad Anoor and keyboardist Diptangshu Bhowmik.
The album features collaborations with the likes of bassist virtuoso Mohini Dey on songs such as โThe Way Homeโ and โBhavaniโ, seasoned bassist Achal Murthy on another track called โEnvyโ and gifted percussionist BC Manjunath on the title track. On stage in Bengaluru, they will be joined by percussionist and drummer Gopi Shravan TS.
The group says in a statement, โWeโre thrilled to be touring India for the first time after the release of our debut album Ecstasy. Sharing our music with audiences across the country has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and the response has been overwhelming.โ
They add, โWeโre especially excited for our upcoming performance at Medai, one of Bangaloreโs most intimate and beautiful venues. Joining us for this show is the phenomenal drummer Gopi Shravan. Weโve been performing with him for a few years now, and the chemistry is electric โ this oneโs going to be a killer collaboration!โ

International Jazz Day celebrations start a few days early in Bengaluru this week. While the official date for the worldwide celebration of jazz is April 30, the city will host three artistes on April 26 at the Koramangala Club, joining a global chorus of events recognised by UNESCO and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.
The lineup for the fourth edition of Bengaluru Jazz Habba includes formidable jazz act Derek & The Cats, seasoned band The Chronic Blues Circus and disco-influenced composer, singer and pianist Tarang Joseph. Derek & The Cats said in a social media post, โWe have a special set planned as itโs going to be intimate and weโll be sharing stories behind the songs we write.โ
The program will be held in the 300-seat auditorium of the Koramangala Club, with organisers promising a โstate of the art sound system guaranteed to provide a magical experience to the audienceโ

Three singer-songwriters across experience and styles take over Bira 91 Taproom this weekend, promising stories of heartbreak, soul-searching and sailing through it all. The lineup includes seasoned Bengaluru-based artiste and vocal coach Mahesh, whose music is described by the event curators as โsoulful, introspective, and rooted in the cityโs indie spirit.โ
Singer-songwriter Gowri Bhatt, who first grew her fanbase via Instagram during the pandemic through her intimate covers and original songs will bring โevocative storytelling, powerful melodies and classical singingโ.
The night will be headlined by New Delhi artiste Dhruv Kapoor, who released his self-titled debut album in October last year. Not only known for English songs such as โWhat Is Loveโ but also Hindi tracks like โTum Ho Meri Jaanโ, the artiste will bring โbilingual ballads and honest lyricism that linger long afterโ.
