Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has finally broken his silence about the shocking attack that took place at his Mumbai home last month. In his first interview since the incident, Saif detailed the harrowing experience to Delhi Times and shared how his eight-year-old son, Taimur, played a crucial role in his recovery.

On January 16, an intruder attacked Saif at his residence, leaving him with six knife wounds. The actor, who required multiple surgeries, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, accompanied by his son Taimur. Speaking to Delhi Times, Saif recalled the tense moments following the attack. โI said, I kind of feel some pain. Thereโs something wrong with my back. She [Kareena Kapoor] said โ you go to the hospital and Iโll go to my sisterโs house. She was making calls frantically โ but nobody was up. And we looked at each other, and I said, โIโm fine. Iโm not going to die.โ And Taimur also asked me โ โAre you going to die?โ I said, โNo.โโ

While initial reports suggested that Saifโs older son, Ibrahim, had accompanied him, it was later confirmed that Taimur was by his side. Addressing his sonโs presence, Saif explained, โHe was absolutely composed. He was fine. He said, โIโm coming with you.โ And I thought, if something happens… I was getting a lot of comfort just from looking at him at that time.โ
The Jewel Thief actor spent five days in the hospital before being discharged on January 21. Making his first public appearance earlier this month at a Netflix India event, Saif, with his neck bandaged and hand in a cast, assured fans that he was on the road to recovery.
