India will chase 193 runs to win the third Test after England were bowled out for 192 in their second innings on the fourth day in Leeds on Sunday.

ย

Resuming the final session at 175 for six, England lost their last four wickets for just 17 runs. Jasprit Bumrah (2-38) removed Chris Woakes (10) and Brydon Carse (1) as the hosts folded quickly under sustained pressure from Indiaโ€™s bowlers.

ย

Spin all-rounder Washington Sundar starred with the ball, returning figures of 4-22. Sundar made the crucial breakthrough soon after tea, dismissing England captain Ben Stokes for 33. He then wrapped up the innings by removing last man Shoaib Bashir for two.

ย

Earlier, Sundar had cleaned up first-innings centurion Joe Root for 40, breaking a stubborn 67-run partnership with Stokes that had revived Englandโ€™s hopes. He followed that by rattling the off stump of Jamie Smith for five in the 47th over.

ย

In the morning session, pacer Mohammed Siraj struck twice while Akash Deep and Nitish Kumar Reddy took a wicket each to leave England wobbling at 98 for four at lunch.

ย

India had earlier matched Englandโ€™s first-innings total, making 387 before being bowled out on Friday.

ย

Brief scores:

ย

England 1st innings: 387

ย

India 1st innings: 387

ย

England 2nd innings: 192 all out in 62.1 overs (Joe Root 40, Ben Stokes 33; Washington Sundar 4-22, Mohammed Siraj 2-31, Jasprit Bumrah 2-38).

ย

India now need 193 runs to seal victory in the third Test and take the lead in the series.
