Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz entered the Wimbledon semifinals by defeating Cameron Norrie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-3, in just 1 hour, 39 minutes.

Becoming the second Spanish player in history after Rafael Nadal to reach the men’s singles semifinals at the grass-court tournament, Alcaraz has extended his winning streak to 23 matches. After Norrie held serve in the opening game, Alcaraz got into an aggressive mode and won the next five games. The second-seeded Alcaraz did not give Norrie any breather as he faced only five break points and saved all of them. He got 39 winners and smashed 13 aces, while recording 26 unforced errors.

“To be able to play another semifinal here at Wimbledon is super special,” said Alcaraz after the quarterfinal match. He will face No. 5 Taylor Fritz for a place in the final.

In another quarterfinal clash, Taylor Fritz got the better of Karen Khachanov, 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4), to reach his maiden Wimbledon semifinal. He had previously lost to Rafael Nadal in 2022 and Lorenzo Musetti in 2024 in the grass-court Grand Slam, but did not yield this time, registering a hard-fought victory over Khachanov in 2 hours, 36 minutes.

“I’m feeling great to get through it. I feel like the match was going so well for me for two sets. I’ve never had a match really just flip so quickly, so I’m really happy with how I came back in the fourth set and got it done,” said Fritz, who will be making his second Grand Slam semifinal appearance after he reached the final at the US Open last year.

“It’s an amazing feeling. Obviously having played the quarter-finals here twice and lost in five sets twice, I don’t think I could have taken another one. So I’m really happy I’m going to get to play the semis here,” he added.

After cruising to a two-set lead without facing a break point, Fritz lost his rhythm in a one-sided third set. But determined not to let the next set slip out of his hands, he fought valiantly and won the fourth set and the match in a tense tie-breaker.
