Ajay Devgn is back as no-nonsense IRS officer Amay Patnaik in Raid 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit Hindi film Raid. The filmโs teaser was released by the makers on Friday (March 28). Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first part, Raid 2 features Riteish Deshmukh as the antagonist. Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak and Amit Sial round out the cast.
In the teaser, a fleet of cars wind down a dusty road, en route to an income tax raid. The voiceover addresses โTaujiโ, the corrupt strongman played by Saurabh Shukla who was put behind bars in the first film. As Tauji languishes in prison, Amay, tough and unsmiling, gears up for his 75th raid. His latest target, Dada Bhai, played by Riteish, is a popular politician of formidable influence and ill-begotten wealth. Amay, as usual, is unfazed. โWho said I am a Pandav? I am the whole Mahabharata,โ he tells Dada Bhau over the phone, unfazed. A battle of wits and attrition is thus launched.
Raid 2 will release in theatres on May 1, 2025.
Ajay Devgnโs last film was Singham Again and an extended cameo in Azaad. Besides Raid 2, he is also buckling up for Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2.
