After months of speculation and weeks of countdown, actor Aamir Khan and longtime partner Gauri Spratt have officially tied the knot.

The couple got married on July 5 in an intimate ceremony at Aamir’s Pali Hill residence in Mumbai, surrounded by close family members, friends and their children from previous relationships. The wedding was deliberately low-key, a reflection of the couple’s desire to keep the occasion deeply personal rather than a star-studded spectacle.

For Aamir, this marks his third marriage, after his earlier marriages to Reena Dutta and filmmaker Kiran Rao. Yet, unlike the frenzy that often surrounds celebrity weddings, the actor had repeatedly stressed that this would be a “gharelu” affair.

“We both want to keep it very basic”

Days before the wedding, Aamir confirmed the date himself while interacting with the media. As reported by Hindustan Times, during his appearance at the screening of Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam and Pedro, Aamir said, “Haan meri shaadi ho rahi hai July 5 ko aur bahut hi choti shaadi hai, ghar mein hi kar rahe hain. 5 ko bahut hi khaas din hai humare liye aur bas dono families hain, kuch khaas dost hain, chota sa ghar pe hi kar rahe hain hum log. Aur sabki duaen chahenge hum (Yes, I’m getting married on July 5. It’s going to be a very intimate wedding, and we’re having it at home. July 5 is a very special day for us. It will be a small ceremony with just our families and a few close friends. We’re keeping it simple and celebrating at home. We would love to have everyone’s blessings).”

A relationship that stayed private for years

Although the world only learned about their romance in 2025,
Aamir and Gauri’s story stretches back much further. The two reportedly first knew each other over two decades ago before reconnecting years later. Their friendship eventually blossomed into a relationship, and they have been together for more than two years.

Speaking about their relationship earlier this year, Aamir said he felt “settled” with Gauri, describing this phase of his life as one of stability and happiness.

Gauri Spratt comes from Bengaluru and has worked in the beauty, wellness and fashion industry. She is also a mother to a son from a previous relationship. In recent months, she has increasingly been seen alongside Aamir at family gatherings and professional celebrations, including events hosted by Aamir Khan Productions.

A different kind of Bollywood wedding

Unlike many high-profile celebrity weddings complete with destination venues and multi-day festivities, Aamir and Gauri opted for simplicity. Their home in Mumbai was decorated with fairy lights and elegant decor, but the celebrations remained intentionally intimate, with a private lunch and marriage registration at the residence.

Despite two previous marriages, Aamir has maintained cordial relationships with both Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. He continues to co-parent his children and collaborate professionally with Kiran, something that has often been appreciated by fans and colleagues alike.
