The much-loved cult classic film Khosla Ka Ghosla is officially making its big-screen comeback with the sequel, ’Khosla Ka Ghosla 2’, arriving in theatres on 28 August 2026.
Produced by T-Series Films and Tandav Films and directed by Prashant Bhagia, the sequel unfolds the story of the iconic Khosla family as they find themselves tangled in a brand-new round of twists, unexpected surprises, and plenty of classic Khosla-style heart warming family moments.
The sequel will clash with Sidharth Malhotra’s Vvan, Yash’s ‘Toxic’ and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’. Talking about the same to Firstpost, actor Parvinn Dabass said, “There is some shoot left for Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. The official release date is of course August 28 and it hasn’t shifted at all yet. I think it’s a special film and it doesn’t matter who it releases with. Every film has its own space is all that I can say.”
The actor added, ” We have a lot of respect for all films and I have a lot of respect for all films. No one wants a crowded weekend but there are a lot of films always releasing. It’s not possible all the time to get a clear weekend but Khosla Ka Ghosla has a very loyal audience. A lot of people are dying to see this film.”
For all of those who are unaware, not Anupam Kher, Rishi Kapoor was the first choice for ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla,’ the remarkable Dibakar Banerjee directorial that will complete 20 years this year.
Kapoor became an overnight sensation after his father Raj Kapoor cast him in Bobby while he was only 21. Bobby released in the same year as Zanjeer, the film that catapulted Amitabh Bachchan to stardom. As Bachchan went on to dominate the Hindi film landscape over the next decade with his Angry Young Man persona, Kapoor probably remained the only contemporary to find stardom while being hat ke.
