Air India Express has fully restored its Middle East operations, bringing back services to Kuwait and Salalah, ending the suspension of flights to the last remaining destinations in the region. The airline resumed flights on the Kozhikode-Salalah sector from July 2, while services between Kozhikode and Kuwait are set to restart from July 3. Flights connecting Bengaluru and Kuwait will follow from July 4, with the airline planning to raise frequencies on both Kuwait routes over the next few days.Initially, the Kozhikode-Kuwait route will operate once a week from July 3 before expanding to three weekly services from July 5. Similarly, the Bengaluru-Kuwait service will begin with one weekly flight from July 4 and increase to three flights a week from July 7, Air India Express said in its press release.

The return of Salalah services means Air India Express is once again operating from both Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport in Oman. The carrier has also restored flights between Muscat and Mangaluru from July 3 and currently operates around 40 weekly services from Muscat to seven Indian destinations.With services to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates now operational, the airline’s Middle East network covers 13 destinations. Air India Express operates about 780 weekly flights linking 18 Indian cities directly with the region.The airline said all Kuwait-bound and Kuwait-originating flights will operate through Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport. Tickets for the restored services are available through the airline’s website, mobile application and other booking platforms.Separately, Air India Express said it has recently expanded its network with new routes connecting Navi Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, Guwahati and Abu Dhabi, Guwahati and Dubai, Bengaluru and Phuket, and Pune and Amritsar.Following these additions, the airline will operate around 415 weekly flights from Bengaluru to 30 domestic and seven international destinations. From Kozhikode, it currently operates about 85 weekly flights, connecting the city with Bengaluru and 13 destinations across the Middle East region.
