India’s junior gymnasts win historic Asian bronze
India’s junior men’s artistic gymnastics team created history by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Zunyi, China, marking a significant achievement for the country’s gymnastics programme.
The Indian team, comprising Harschit Damodaran, Nishad Narvane, SK Nabigh Ali, Akshat Bajaj and Mohammed Zaid Ansari, delivered a strong and consistent performance to finish third in the team standings with a total score of 224.493 points.
Competing against some of Asia’s most established gymnastics nations, the young Indian side held its own to secure a place on the podium.
Hosts China dominated the competition to claim the gold medal with 241.458 points, while Japan finished second with 239.461 points to take silver.

The bronze medal represents a landmark achievement for the Indian junior men’s artistic gymnastics team and highlights the growing strength of the sport in the country at the grassroots level.
