Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon have come together for Cocktail 2 that released in cinemas this Friday. The first day numbers are out and as per Sacnilk, it has collected Rs 13.50 crore at the box-office on its opening day, which is better than Shahidโs last two releases O Romeo and Devaa.
The collections are impressive since this is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 romantic comedy and the weekend numbers are likely to grow too. However, it has received mixed reviews from critics.
With this, Sanon gears upย for her first adult film. Starring Kriti Sanon in a never-seen-before avatar alongside the ensemble cast ofย ย
Cocktail 2, the track has instantly become a talking point. As audiences caught the song on the big screen, reactions poured in, with fans left stunned by Kritiโs striking transformation from her intense role inย Tere Ishk Meinย to this bold, boho-glam look.
The trailer that failed to leave a mark
_Cocktail_ย back in 2012ย was a menage-a-trois about Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. It marked Padukoneโs 2.0 as an actor who could power even middling scripts. The narrative of the rom-com turned too screechy and melodramatic post interval but producer Dinesh Vijan revealed at the trailer launch of the sequel this one is a breeze.
What the trailer offered
The trailer (and also the film) follows the same template that made the first film work in 2012- A lot of style, sea, and sexiness dripping from every frame of the exceptionally extravagant enterprise. But the promo also reeks of hollowness with barely any scene registering. It may be too early to judge since this is just the tip of the iceberg.
To give credit,ย the makers have successfully retained the essence of the plot or the plot twist. There are rumours this could be a queer love story but we will have to wait till the 19th June. But the promo needed to be better and so did the soundtrack. One of the reasons whyย Cocktailย hit the bulls eye was its sensational music by Pritam.
