China's rare earth exports reach $64 million in April, outbound shipments rise 12% month-on-month

Chinaโ€™s rare earth exports were valued at $64.2 million in April 2026, according to preliminary trade data released by the General Administration of Customs of the Peopleโ€™s Republic of China (GACC), ANI reported.The customs data showed that China exported 5,308.6 tonnes of rare earths during the month.Chinaโ€™s overall exports rose 12 per cent month-on-month in April, while the countryโ€™s total trade stood at $634.06 billion.According to the GACC data, Chinaโ€™s total exports during April were valued at $359.44 billion, while imports stood at $274.62 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $84.82 billion.The customs administration said the countryโ€™s total trade, export and import value increased 7.2 per cent month-on-month.Among major export categories, high-tech product exports stood at $104.01 billion during April, while mechanical and electrical product exports were valued at $229.29 billion.Chinaโ€™s mobile phone exports were valued at $84.10 billion, while integrated circuit exports stood at $31.08 billion, according to the customs data.The data further showed that exports of motor vehicles, including chassis fitted with engines, were valued at $160.96 billion during the month. Exports of automotive components and parts stood at $85.99 billion.The figures were released as part of the GACCโ€™s April 2026 trade data update.
