Balanced SRH face resurgent CSKย

A confident and well-balanced Sunrisers Hyderabad will head into their IPL clash against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, buoyed by the emergence of two exciting pace prospects, Praful Hinge and Sakib Husain.

Brought into the side in place of experienced campaigners Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat, the uncapped duo made an immediate impact, reducing Rajasthan Royals to 9 for 5 within the first three overs and handing them their first defeat of the season.

The 24-year-old Vidarbha pacer Praful Hinge emerged as the standout performer, dismantling Rajasthanโ€™s top order that included Dhruv Jurel, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and skipper Riyan Parag during a fiery opening spell. He eventually returned with figures of 4 for 34.

Hinge impressed with his ability to extract bounce from a back-of-a-length, while Sakib Husain, a relatively unknown 21-year-old from Bihar who was earlier overlooked by Kolkata Knight Riders, complemented him brilliantly on debut.

Using clever variations through the middle overs, Husain also picked up four wickets as Rajasthan were bowled out for 159 while chasing a target of 216.
The rise of the young pace duo has strengthened SRHโ€™s bowling attack, which had been a concern earlier in the season, and added balance to a side already packed with batting firepower in Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen.

Fresh from their breakthrough performances, Hinge and Husain will aim to trouble CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has struggled for form this season, with a highest score of just 28 across five innings.

However, there is some relief for Chennai with Sanju Samson rediscovering his touch, scoring an unbeaten century against Delhi Capitals and following it up with a 48 in the win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

With Gaikwad struggling, CSK may consider pushing him down the order and promoting youngster Ayush Mhatre, who has impressed with two half-centuries in his last four outings.

After a poor start that saw three consecutive defeats, the five-time championsโ€”still without MS Dhoni, who is expected to return in the next game in Mumbaiโ€”have bounced back with two successive wins.

However, their bowling attack has been weakened by the absence of left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed, who has been ruled out of the season with a quadriceps injury sustained during the win over KKR.

Already missing Dhoni and Nathan Ellis, CSK may need to reshuffle their pace unit, with Mukesh Choudhary likely to step in as a new-ball option, while Ramakrishna Ghosh could also be considered.

After losing three of their first four matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad have staged a strong comeback at home, and the emergence of their young fast bowlers has further boosted team morale.

Chennai Super Kings, too, come into the contest with renewed momentum following back-to-back victories. They will, however, need to adjust their strategy in the absence of Khaleel and aim to secure their first away win of the season in what promises to be a crucial mid-table encounter.
The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm.
