NEW DELHI: As international fast food chain McDonald’s launched its millet bun burger, the Central government called it a “vindication” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Millet movement” where he promoted it as “superfood”.“‘Videshi turns to Swadeshi’ as the popular international food chain McDonaldโs serves Indiaโs โMillet Bun Burgerโ, prepared using indigenous technology developed by the Mysore based CSIR institute, the ‘Central Food Technological Research Institute’ CFTRI,” Union MoS science & technology Jitendra Singh said in a post on X.He also shared a picture of the burger.“And, a grand vindication for Indiaโs Millet movement which had gained momentum with the UN declaring 2023 as the โInternational Year of Milletsโ at the behest of India with the personal intervention of PM Narendra Modi,” he added.“A proud moment showcasing how Indian innovation and traditional nutrition are reshaping global food trends,” he said.
