Team India’s Women’s World Cup campaign has suffered a setback with star opener Pratika Rawal officially ruled out of the tournament following a serious injury sustained during the rain-affected clash at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Rawal, one of India’s most consistent performers this season, slipped and fell awkwardly near the boundary ropes while attempting a brave stop in the outfield. Wincing in pain, she had to be helped off the field by the team’s support staff and did not return for the rest of India’s bowling innings or to open the chase in the match which was eventually abandoned.
