Indiaโ€™s upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh may be postponed with the BCCI โ€œwaryโ€ of the security situation in the country owing to the turmoil there since the civil unrest last year. India were to play three T20 Internationals and three ODIs in Chittagong and Dhaka from August 17 to 31.

A BCCI official confirmed that the board is concerned about the security situation in Bangladesh. โ€œThe series has, however, not been cancelled, but will be held at a later date, preferably in 2026 as ODI Championship points for World Cup qualification are linked to it, he said.

It is learnt that the BCCI wants the tour to go ahead only after the general elections in Bangladesh and when โ€œa stable government is in place taking care of the law and order situationโ€. Polls in Bangladesh are not expected to take place before early next year.
