NASA and Netflix are partnering to bring NASA+ live programming to the streaming platform starting this summer, offering viewers direct access to space missions, rocket launches, and live views from the International Space Station (ISS). The collaboration will make NASA content available to Netflixโ€™s global audience of more than 700 million subscribers.

Announced on Monday, the initiative is part of NASAโ€™s broader effort to make its scientific and exploratory missions more accessible to the public. The partnership will allow Netflix users to watch high-definition streams of events like astronaut spacewalks, real-time Earth imagery from the ISS, and mission coverage directly through the Netflix interface.

Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+, emphasised the importance of outreach: โ€œOur Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience. Together, weโ€™re committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration โ€” inspiring new generations โ€” right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone.โ€

While NASA+ will continue to be available for free on the NASA app and at NASA.gov, the integration with Netflix offers another option for audiences to engage with the agencyโ€™s programming.

Live content from NASA+ will appear on Netflix alongside the platformโ€™s usual series and films. A detailed schedule for upcoming events will be released closer to the launch window through Netflixโ€™s official channels.
