Six Indian boxers storm into Seychelles finals
India are guaranteed several top-podium finishes with six of its boxers moving on to the finals at the Seychelles National Day Boxing Tournament.

Aditya Pratap (65kg), a Uttar Pradesh boy who had claimed silver at the National Combined Finals, demonstrated his maturity with a dominating display.

Having already fought for India in the Elorda Cup held in Kazakhstan, Pratap overwhelmed local favourite Jovanie Bouzin, prompting the referee to intervene in the third round (RSC).

Neeraj (75kg), another National Combined silver medallist, also reflected that dominance. He claimed a second-round RSC victory over his rival to earn a final’s spot in clinical style.

Himanshu Sharma of Haryana, a previous Belgrade Boxing champion and bronze medallist at the 6th Elite Nationals, claimed a composed 4-1 decision victory over Mauritius’ Mathieu Soupprayen in the 50kg class.

Reigning National Combined champion Ashish Mudshaniya (55kg) of Uttar Pradesh, who remains in good form, won a comfortable 4-1 decision against Mauritius’ Guillaume Francis.

Haryana’s Anmol (60kg), who won silver at the National Combined, followed with a convincing 4-1 split decision over Seychelles’ Dario Gaberiel to further improve India’s medal chances.

Kartik Dalal, in the 70kg category, displayed determination in a closely contested contest but lost 1-4 on points to South Africa’s Blessing Nziyana.

Services’ heavyweight Gaurav Chauhan (+90kg), a 37th National Games gold medallist and 2024 Elorda Cup bronze winner, has been awarded a direct entry into the final, guaranteeing at least a silver medal in his weight class.
