Indiaโ€™s T20 World Cup opener against Pak

India will face Pakistan in their first match of the ICC Womenโ€™s T20 World Cup at Edgbaston on June 14 next year, according to the full schedule of the tournament announced by the ICC and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday.

The tournament featuring 12 teams will be held from June 12 to July 5, 2026. A total of 33 matches will be played across seven venues in England during the 24-day tournament. England and Sri Lanka will clash in the opening match of the T20 World Cup at Edgbaston on June 12. The other venues include Hampshire Bowl, Headingley, Old Trafford, The Oval, Bristol County Ground and Lordโ€™s. While the semifinals are scheduled at The Oval on June 30 and July 2, the final will be at Lord’s on July 5.

There will be two groups of six teams each. While Group 1 has Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan and two qualifying teams, Group 2 consists of New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka and England, besides two qualifying teams. The top two teams from the two groups will make it to the semifinals.

After their match against Pakistan, India will play a qualifying team at Headingley on June 17 and meet South Africa at Old Trafford on June 21. They will next face another qualifying team on June 25 at Old Trafford before their most crucial match against Australia on June 28 at Lordโ€™s.
