2-time champ Kvitova back at Wimbledon as wild card

Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is making a comeback in the grass-court Grand Slam tournament as a wild card. Kvitova had won the Wimbledon title in 2011 and 2014. Kvitova had last played at Wimbledon in 2023.

Kvitova made a comeback to the WTA Tour in Austin, Texas, in February after a gap of 17 months. She is currently ranked 572nd in the world. A native of Czech Republic, Kvitova was the only non-British player to be awarded a singles wild card to the main draw on Wednesday.

Among the other seven womenโ€™s players who have got wild cards are British players Heather Watson, Harriet Dart and Jodie Burrage. Dan Evans is among the seven British players who have secured a wild card for the men’s draw.
