Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is making a comeback in the grass-court Grand Slam tournament as a wild card. Kvitova had won the Wimbledon title in 2011 and 2014. Kvitova had last played at Wimbledon in 2023.

Kvitova made a comeback to the WTA Tour in Austin, Texas, in February after a gap of 17 months. She is currently ranked 572^nd in the world. A native of Czech Republic, Kvitova was the only non-British player to be awarded a singles wild card to the main draw on Wednesday.

Among the other seven women’s players who have got wild cards are British players Heather Watson, Harriet Dart and Jodie Burrage. Dan Evans is among the seven British players who have secured a wild card for the men’s draw.
