The third season is set to continue from the shocking twist of the second season. Ranked as No.1 non-English series of all time at Netflix, Squid Game’s third season will drop on June 27, 2025.

The official logline of the Season 3 reads, “A failed rebellion, the death of a friend, and a secret betrayal — Squid Game Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Season 2’s bloody cliffhanger. Although Gi-hun is at his lowest point yet, the Squid Game stops for no one.

“So Gi-hun will be forced to make some important choices in the face of overwhelming despair as he and the surviving players are thrust into deadlier games that test everyone’s resolve. With each round, their choices lead to increasingly grave consequences.”

In the teaser, after his collapsed revolt, Gi-hun finds himself back in the dorm. With stakes higher than ever, players return to the competition. With sides chosen, VIPs return and the fight begins.

In an emotional letter to fans, series director, writer and executive director Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote a letter to fans about the season. “I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season,” he wrote. “The fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.”
